Geography

The 10/40 Window

Stretching from West Africa across Asia, between 10° and 40° north latitude, this band holds the overwhelming majority of the world's unreached.

For every $100,000 Christians earn worldwide, roughly $1.83 reaches the unreached.

"If you were in a ballroom with a fifty-foot ceiling representing what Christians earn, you could stand two dollar bills end to end, twelve inches off the floor, to represent the tithe. But to show what reaches the unreached, you'd have to lay both bills flat — about half a millimeter."— Claude Hickman
Manpower

Missionaries and workers

445,000 foreign missionaries serve worldwide. Almost all of them work where the church already exists — each dot below represents roughly 1% of all missionaries.

The Bottom Line

This isn't a resources problem.

The global church holds roughly 14,000 times the money and 36,000 times the people needed to reach every remaining unreached people group. Sending ten workers to each of the 7,246 unreached groups, at $70,000 a year, would take just 0.007% of Christian income worldwide — about $5 billion.

"Reaching the world with the gospel is not a resource problem, it is a mobilization problem."— Claude Hickman, The Traveling Team
